In this week’s Tech Talk With Doug, let’s talk about whether or not subwoffers are necessary for your home theater system. In the past, many people had large box speakers that would sit on the floor. The large speakers were great because the enclosure enhanced the low end sound of your TV. Fast forward a few years and most of our speakers are now much smaller. Even though your soundbar or speakers may produce an impressive sound, they won’t be able to deliver the low frequency sounds that a subwoofer can.
What is a subwoofer?
A subwoofer is a speaker designed to produce very low bass frequencies sounds. At these low frequencies, the sounds can be felt, as well as, heard. In addition to filling in the low frequencies your other speakers may not, the subwoofers can also provide a powerful rumble for your next movie night.
